Dr Rub\u00e9n Nogueiras, winner in the basic category of the 3rd edition of the Fundaci\u00f3n Occident Research Awards, has given an interview to the <\/span>Faro de Vigo<\/b><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Opportunities for further research in the fields of nutrition and obesity<\/b><\/h2>\n

Dr Nogueiras is a researcher at the Singular Centre for Research in Molecular Medicine and Chronic Diseases (CiMUS) and a full professor at the University of Santiago de Compostela (CIMUS-USC), and thanks to his work in research, he has been recognized for his project \u201c<\/span>Role of Tanycytes in Nutrient Sensing<\/span><\/i>\u201d which is closely focused on pandemic diseases that involve a high economic, social and health cost such as obesity<\/span><\/p>\n

During the course of the interview, the doctor comments: “We don’t think there is going to be a magic pill that makes an obese person thin”<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Throughout the interview, Rub\u00e9n thanks Fundaci\u00f3n Occident for its commitment to the recognition and importance of the research.
