Dr Rubén Nogueiras, winner in the basic category of the 3rd edition of the Fundación Occident Research Awards, has given an interview to the Faro de Vigo.

Opportunities for further research in the fields of nutrition and obesity

Dr Nogueiras is a researcher at the Singular Centre for Research in Molecular Medicine and Chronic Diseases (CiMUS) and a full professor at the University of Santiago de Compostela (CIMUS-USC), and thanks to his work in research, he has been recognized for his project “Role of Tanycytes in Nutrient Sensing” which is closely focused on pandemic diseases that involve a high economic, social and health cost such as obesity

During the course of the interview, the doctor comments: “We don’t think there is going to be a magic pill that makes an obese person thin”
