Pedro López Salas, excellenceand international projection

One of the two grants from Fundación Occident goes to Pedro López Salas, a pianist from Albacete recognised as one of the most promising emerging figures on the international piano scene today. He is currently studying at the Reina Sofía School of Music under the direction of Maestro Stanislav Ioudenitch.

Career and achievements

Throughout his career he has received numerous national and international awards, including First Prize at the CIPCE 'Composers of Spain' International Piano Competition, Second Prize at the Paderewski International Piano Competition in Poland, and various awards in competitions held in Spain, the United Kingdom, Belgium and Malta. He has also performed as a soloist with leading European orchestras and given recitals in various countries across the continent.
