The Foundation committed to social action

In the area of social action, the Foundation develops and participates in various types of projects, including those related to the integration into society of people with disabilities, children with serious illnesses, the development of social, educational and healthcare conditions among people at risk, raising environmental awareness and social entrepreneurship.

To fulfil this commitment and social work, we collaborate with trusted entities, promoting joint projects to provide a dignified life to groups at risk of poverty and social exclusion. The educational project with Save the Children aimed at the most vulnerable children, the programme to support children at risk with the Fundación Balia, and the projects to support children's education with Manos Unidas are some clear examples.

In keeping with these social action programmes, with Save the Med we work on the Changemakers project to contribute to the development of a network for the conservation of protected marine areas, as well as to help the ecosystem regain its balance and well-being.

In addition to all these social work activities and programmes, our vision extends to a long-term future, as we seek to provide help and solutions to common problems for those groups in situations of poverty or exclusion, and those that require social support and intervention.

We facilitate access to essential services, emotional and educational support for those who need it most in Spain, preserving the principle of equal opportunity.

We collaborate to promote education, training, and access to quality health services for young people and vulnerable communities, boosting their development.

We support and promote projects that foster sustainability and respect for the environment, with a special focus on the marine environment and the blue economy.

Eco-Social Call: Driving a positive and sustainable impact

Fundación Occident reaffirms its commitment to society and the natural environment through the launch of the first Eco-Social Jesús Serra Call.

Scholarship programme - UNHCR

The DAFI scholarship programme makes it possible for students and graduates to further their social and professional development, by enabling them to earn qualifications to increase their opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship.

Fundación Prevent: Programmes for people with disabilities

We work together on the university grant programme for promoting equal opportunities in higher education and entrepreneurship in people with disabilities.

Collaborate with the Food Banks!

From the Fundación Occident we have promoted a Teaming group (online platform for raising funds through micro-donations of one euro) with the aim of joining the great social initiative of the Spanish Federation of Food Banks.

Fundación Occident has been collaborating with Manos Unidas since 2006, developing international cooperation projects linked to the improvement of education.

Right to education among the most vulnerable children

Fundación Occident, is collaborating with Save the Children to offer the programme "Guaranteeing the right to education among the most vulnerable children", a social and educational intervention within Save the Children's Child Poverty action programme.

Accompaniment program for minors at risk

The Fundación Jesús Serra is supporting the Fundación Balia, whose work entails providing a dignified future. This collaboration has helped take care of over 200 children between 5 and 7 years of age, as well as offer IT workshops to over 900 people of different ages.

Project Luisa Farré: physiotherapy and training for African women

Together with "Ser Madre, Ser Mujer" (Being a Mother, Being a Woman) we are promoting a project to combat obstetric and gynaecological injuries suffered by many women in developing countries during pregnancy and childbirth.
