Fundación Occident and the Reina Sofía Museum: an alliance to bring art closer to people
Fundación Occident, as part of its commitment to spread contemporary culture and art, has been collaborating with the Reina Sofía Museum as part of project Team since 2024.
Project Team, promoted by the Education Area of the Reina Sofía Museum, is based on the idea that art is a collective process and that its production and reception must be shared experiences. Specifically, the Foundation supports the groups “Team 1517”, aimed at teens aged 15 to 17, and “Team 1821”, for young people aged 18 to 21, which create meeting spaces where artistic creativity, reflection and experimentation become tools for social expression and transformation.
With this collaboration, the Foundation thus reinforces its commitment to universal access to culture and art.
At the same time, Fundación Occident organises group visits to the collection and temporary exhibitions of the Reina Sofía Museum for GCO employees. These visits offer a unique opportunity for employees to explore the museum's collections and learn about the temporary exhibitions and permanent collection, promoting cultural enrichment and learning through art.
