"Play me, I'm Yours"arrives in Seville
Seville is filled with grand pianos
Seville will be filled with pianos on 30 April. On this day, the whole city will be invited to immerse itself in music, and the streets of this Andalusian city will be transformed to welcome the melodies emanating from the grand pianos.
The original idea of placing pianos in emblematic areas of the city, so that any person—professional or amateur—can sit down and play them, was originally promoted by the Maria Canals International Music Competition. Thanks to the alliance with Fundación Occident, this initiative arrives in Seville to transform its squares and historic corners into a living stage. This music festival celebrates the diversity of styles and the democratisation of the practice of an instrument that, thanks to this project, is no longer confined to the auditorium, coming out to meet the Sevillian public in an accessible and open environment.
And it is not only intended for those already trained in the art of the piano. For any complete beginners wanting to get started and play their first notes, now is the time thanks to the facilitators who will be at each of the 7 grand pianos distributed throughout the city centre. Throughout the day, there will also be time for the students of Soy Clave de Sevilla (link to Me Toca). A day full of music open to all.
