
Daumants Liepins 2023 concerts
Daumants Liepin, winner of the 2019 Maria Canals Competition, won the prize in Barcelona after performing Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 in B minor, Op. 23.
His prize was €25,000, including his participation in various recitals and orchestra concerts.
The Latvian winner is one of his country's most interesting pianists of his generation. He has already received numerous awards, such as the first Liela Muzikas Balvin prize (the most prestigious award in Latvia, in the Young Artist category) or the George Enescu International Piano Competition and the Nordic Piano Competition, the James Mottram International Piano Competition and the Tbilisi International Piano Competition.
Not to mention, he has performed around the world, including with leading orchestras such as the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra, the Romanian National Symphony Orchestra, the Georgian National Symphony Orchestra and the Kaunas Symphony Orchestra.
A concert was held on 10 May in the town of Sant Cugat del Vallès.
