Fundación Occident rewards musical talent with two grants for the Reina Sofía School of Music
This collaboration with the Reina Sofía School of Music, one of the most prestigious international musical institutions, dates back to 2022 and, as a result of this alliance, the foundation has funded two training grants for high-achieving young pianists, Fundación Occident's Federico Halpern Grants, of which Álex Arroyo and Pedro López Salas are currently the beneficiaries.
The collaboration between the two entities began with the objective of offering young performers with great artistic potential access to the highest quality of musical training. In 2025, Fundación Occident expanded its commitment to the Reina Sofía School of Music, increasing the number of annual grants from one to two, thus reinforcing its support for the development of future generations of professional musicians.
Culture and education as a way to transform society
Through these grants, Fundación Occident reaffirms its conviction that culture is an essential tool for personal and collective development. The training of young musicians not only contributes to preserving and enriching cultural assets, but also fosters values such as discipline, effort, creativity, and excellence.
The Reina Sofía School of Music shares this vision and has been working for more than three decades to offer top-quality education based exclusively on the talent of its students, also providing free tuition to selected students.
