The Fundación Occident collaborates with Fundación MACBA in its project “Niños, Niñas y Jóvenes del Raval: acercándose al MACBA”, where its main goal is to find a unique and permanent space for children and young people in the El Raval neighbourhood to participate in a collective experience with an artist, in an environment full of imagination and a desire to break the rules.
This proposal aims to make children move away from the conventional and enter the museum from a perspective free of judgments, with the aim of facilitating access to culture and art, drawing close to families in the neighbourhood and debunking myths that contemporary art is not accessible to everyone.
For this 2023-2024 academic year, a new workshop entitled “Los Jóvenes del Raval” (Neighbourhood boys and girls) was included in the education programme, aimed at young people over the age of twelve and with the collaboration of artist Amaia Martin and her proposal "The subtle invasion,” where she invites young people to build a common space through play and experimentation.
In the case of Neighbourhood boys and girls, the workshop by the artist Marc Larré and his project "Imperceptible permanente” (permanent imperception), where for the seventh consecutive year, a new challenge is posed for children to live a collective experience in an area open to the imagination and with a desire to break the rules.
