Fundación de Investigación Cardiovascular: secrets of the heart

Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death in the world today. To combat this situation, prevention and administering the optimal treatment at the right time are the best tools for saving lives. The Fundación Jesús Serra is aware of this situation and, therefore, has supported the Fundación de Investigación Cardiovascular for the last 25 years in the dissemination of knowledge at all levels through training, advisory services, and support for professionals and companies striving for a heart-healthy world.

The partnership between the foundations has driven numerous projects by the Instituto Catalán de Ciencias Cardiovasculares (ICCC) and the Hospital de la Santa Creu y Sant Pau (HSCSP), which have received international recognition and numerous awards. Furthermore, our support facilitated the creation of the Chair for Cardiovascular Research at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) in 1993, whose aim is to promote research activities and education related to the prevention of cardiovascular diseases with the participation of researchers and visiting professors.

Since then, we have also organised numerous events and conferences to celebrate World Heart Day with the participation of prestigious researchers and doctors, such as Lina Badimon and Antoni Bayés. Likewise, we have awarded training scholarships and bridge grants for projects that have culminated in the publication of articles in leading international scientific journals. Ultimately, our foundation promotes the advancement of progress with the aim of creating a better society for everyone.
