Poetízate. Poesía en las aulas (Get into poetry. Poetry in the class

“Poetízate. Poesía en las aulas" is an initiative by Fundación Occident that seeks to bring poetry closer to young people, presenting it as a tool for expression and communication.

Through sessions with poets such as Josep Pedrals and David Castillo, poetry is becoming an inclusive and open genre by promoting and spreading it among primary and secondary students.These are very educational and lively classes, with dramatised readings aimed at children between 10 and 13 years old, and teenagers between 14 and 17 years old.

The sessions are free and are scheduled at educational centres during school hours, usually during the second term of the school year. 

The project has been carried out since 2019, and more than 76 educational centres have been visited at which more than 5,200 students have participated. 

Jesús Serra Poetry Competition

The workshops form part of the poetry competition organised by the Foundation for more than fifteen years. It is an international competition, unique in its genre as it is open to all age groups, and it rewards the creation of a single poem and its literary quality.
