Winter sports experience for family members of employees and mediators

Here at the Fundación Occident, we organise a Winter Sports Experience which is free for family members with disabilities of employees and mediators of GCO, in collaboration with the Centro de Deportes Inclusivos de Arán (CDIA). The ski resort of Baqueira Beret is the venue chosen for participants to go skiing. Skiing is a sport which is perfectly accessible for everyone: it is just a question of having the proper equipment and learning how to use it.

Skiing provides an incredible sense of freedom and allows people with disabilities to enjoy nature and the mountains. It is a sport which offers endless benefits, both physical and personal: it strengthens self-esteem, improves motivation, helps participants to break out of isolation, improves mental performance… All in all, it offers participants a unique opportunity to increase their self-sufficiency. Sharing this activity with family members and other people with disabilities is a unique experience in a wonderful natural environment.

The 2024 edition took place on the dates: 6 to 10 March.
